“To achieve wellness, we must make adjustments to our beliefs and our lifestyle, so that we
get out of the ‘stress feedback loop.’This is just as important as adjustments to our spine, and that is why I see my role as an educator, not just a practitioner.”

My Story

I first discovered chiropractic at the age of 25 after being struck by a vehicle while riding my bicycle. After surgery and two weeks in hospital, I began physiotherapy and massage. After six months of pain and little improvement my lawyer suggested I see a chiropractor. The event changed my life forever. After several treatments it was apparent to me that I needed to change my career, as a registered nurse, to become a chiropractor.

I had suffered from asthma, allergies and heartburn most of my life. Although I sought chiropractic care for back pain, I discovered that chiropractic is about normalizing nervous system function, thereby restoring the body’s amazing healing and self-regulating capacity. Initially, I saw a chiropractor that advised me to come in when in pain.

Later, I decided to change chiropractors as I felt I had hit a plateau. I began seeing a different chiropractor that put me on a program of care regardless of how I felt, and at that point my health began to soar. Although I am unable to recall how long it took, after approximately six months of regular care, my heartburn stopped and asthma and allergy symptoms began to subside. Currently, I have been off medications for years, and at one point I recall being on five different medications, including corticosteroids. My health has never been better, something I am very grateful for.  My experience and helping see people achieve their health dreams fuels my passion. My mission is to share chiropractic with as many people as I can.

In May 2006, I purchased Victoria Family Chiropractic. I strongly believe in educating people on how to achieve wellness and I frequently speak to community groups and organizations. I got tired of watching pharmaceutical drug ads promote the treatment of symptoms and not the cause, perpetuating people’s illnesses. I believe that Chiropractic has failed the public. We have been unable to educate the public about the importance of regular preventative chiropractic care. Dentistry for example has done a brilliant job at letting people know about oral health, yet your teeth pale in comparison to how vital the spine and nervous system are to your health. Wellness is achieved when we nourish our life force and chiropractic is a part of that.

My Education

I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic West, in San Jose California, as class valedictorian, magne cum laude. I was a typical keener, attending numerous seminars outside of school and was a member of Palmer’s prestigious sports council. During my time at Palmer, I played for the Palmer Pride, a ACHA div. 2 hockey team.

My Family

I have been married to my amazing wife Melissa since October 2000. I have a son Caden born in 2004 and a daughter Taia born in 2006. In my spare time I soak up as much of my family as I can. My family is my foundation. My passions include chiropractic/wellness, hockey, personal growth, food, reading, movies, nature and exercise. I am heard saying to my son “The most important thing in the world is LOVE.”
