Chiropractic and Spinal Decompression

Chiropractic is based on the principle that the body is designed to self heal and self regulate, a process called homeostasis. This process is controlled by the body’s master control system (the central nervous system), which is protected by the bones of the skull and spine. If a bone of the spine becomes misaligned (subluxated), it chokes nerve transmission between the brain and body. Chiropractic is the science, art, and philosophy of correcting subluxations (via adjustments) to allow healing and optimal health and performance.

Spinal Decompression is a slow, gentle and controlled traction for either the cervical (neck) or lumbar (low back) spine. This treatment is used for individuals with degenerative processes occurring in spinal discs, facet joints and their related soft tissue structures. As joint space is restored it pulls nutrients (water, oxygen, blood) into damaged structures thereby allowing regenerative effects. The healing process then takes the pressure off the spinal cord and sensitive nerve roots.
